Boeing Employees' Photographic Society

Scanner Use Policy

Nikon LS-2000

Anyone wishing to have scanning performed must meet the following requirements:

  1. You must be a current (paid up or Life) member of BEPS or BECS. These services are not available to individuals not meeting this membership requirement.
  2. Any images intended for scanning must be the property of the individual member.
  3. Individuals must provide the scanning Focals with the slides or negatives in a clean and protected manner.
  4. The individual must provide the following information to the Focal: What resolution - up to 2700dpi with a 675dpi minimum. What format the images are to be saved in - TIFF is the preferred format for those wishing to make prints or wishing to output to film. What storage medium would you like to have images saved to - 3.5" floppy, Zip disk (100meg), or CD-R/CD-RW is available. A 3.5" floppy, Zip disk or CD must be provided by the individual unless other arrangements are made with the Focal. What format the information is to be stored in - PC or Mac.
  5. The scanner is not available for individual use by members. All scanning must be done by one of the designated Focals. Individuals wishing to be present while their materials are being scanned must make these arrangements with the Focal.

What format the images are to be saved in - TIFF is the preferred format for those wishing to make prints or wishing to output to film. What storage medium would you like to have images saves to - 3.5" floppy, Zip disk (100meg), or CD-R/CD-RW is available. A 3.5" floppy, Zip disk or CD must be provided by the individual unless other arrangements are made with the Focal. What format the information is to be stored in - PC or Mac.
