Darkroom Rental Requirements

Anyone wishing to rent the darkroom must meet the following requirements:
  1. You must be a current (paid up or Life) member of BEPS. The darkroom is not to be used by nor loaned to any individual not meeting this membership requirement.
  2. You must attend a darkroom orientation given by the darkroom Chairman. Reorientation may be required at the discretion of the Chair as new equipment is added.
  3. For the most efficient use of your rental time, your personal safety and to minimize potential damage to the equipment, prior darkroom experience is strongly encouraged. Experience may be from prior classes or self taught. BEPS offers classes periodically for those without previous darkroom experience.
  4. You must contact the Chairman to reserve the darkroom. The reservation period runs from 4:00 am to 3:59 am the following day. You do not share the darkroom with anyone. It is yours for the day.
  5. The outer room is available for print mounting on a first come, first served basis, independent of darkroom reservations. Reservation may be made to guarantee equipment availability but are not required.
  6. There is a rental charge of $8.00 per day which covers the cost of equipment maintenance and chemicals for B&W printing. There is no charge for use of the print mounting equipment.
  7. Payment arrangements are to be made at the time of reservation. Normally, payment is made after the darkroom is used. Checks, made payable to BEPS, are preferable but cash is acceptable. We have no provision for payment by credit card.
  8. All equipment must be maintained to an "as issued" condition - clean and properly stored. Individuals are not held responsible for repairs or replacement of this equipment; due to normal wear and tear.

The Club assumes no responsibility for the unavailability of the darkroom for a specific date due to unforeseen repair or replacement requirements. Board approved activities shall have priority over the rental by individuals. Specifically, previously scheduled darkroom classes shall have priority over rental by individuals.
